Sad because the summer concert season is coming to an end? Not to worry. Deer Lake Park has you covered, with three very different artists playing shows at the Festival Lawn this September. With the warm weather that the Lower Mainland usually experiences in September, there’s still time to soak up some rays while listening to live music in the beautiful surroundings of Deer Lake Park.

Portugal. The Man and Broken Social Scene

First up is Portugal. The Man on Saturday, September 1st. Hailing from Wasilia, Alaska, alternative rockers Portugal. The Man are probably best known for the upbeat, Grammy-winning “Feel it Still”. Their mainstream success may be recent, but their musical career certainly isn’t – the group’s latest album Woodstock is the bands eighth release. They will be joined in concert by Canadian-indie rock collective Broken Social Scene.

Ms. Lauryn Hill

On September 14th the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill will be here for a stop on her world tour for the 20th Anniversary of her iconic and celebrated album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Released in 1998, the now classic album featured hits like “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and “Everything is Everything” and earned 10 Grammy nominations. Hill will be joined by guests Santigold, De La Soul and Iman Omari.

Ben Howard

Lastly, UK Singer-songwriter Ben Howard will take the stage on September 20th. Howard is on tour to promote his latest album Noonday Dream, which is his first in four years. Howard’s latest album showcases his soulful, rich vocals and poetic lyrics, and his music provides the perfect end-of-summer soundtrack.
