One of the most popular Chinese restaurants in the city

If you’re lucky enough to be visiting Burnaby during August, then you’ll be able to enjoy all that’s great about summer in the city. During the month we have three great events taking place: a blues festival, a special RCMP show, and movies in the park. Whether you’re staying here for a while or just passing through, you’ll be sure to have a memorable stay during your time in Burnaby.

Blues on a Saturday afternoon

It doesn’t get much better than the Burnaby Blues Festival, which has been one of the highlights of the summer for the past 18 years. This year’s event will be taking place on Saturday August 12 at Deer Lake Park, and will be headlined by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, who will be joined many more talent blues acts. There’ll also be food vendors and activities for children onsite, too. Show begins at 1pm.

Happy birthday Burnaby

It’s a double celebration this year: it’s Canada’s 150th birthday, and Burnaby’s 125th! Head down to Swangard Stadium on August 18 and you’ll be able to see a musical ride of the iconic RCMP, which will the highlight of a day filled with fun activities and performances.

Movies in the park

It’ll be a fun and wholesome night at Wesburn Park on August 9, when the Wesburn Family Picnic & Movie Night will be taking place. Take a blanket and settle in for the film, which begins at 8:30pm. Before then, there’ll be hot dogs and wading pools.
